Monet sailboats

The last lesson of the September session concluded with the completion of these stunning Monet inspired paintings. Acrylic on canvas

Water Lily Pond

The inspiration of September session is the artist  Claude Monet. We looked at some of his famous paintings and discussed his innovative style of impressionism. We studied his unique way of capturing light using color, shapes, shading and visible brush strokes. We than painted our own version of Monet's 'The Water Lilly Pond' oil pastels and water colors.

Life's a beach

We completed our 'Summer' themed session with these fun beach scene. We discussed use of space and composition and practiced blending and shading. Acrylic on canvas.

August 2015

We began the session with a fun popsicle  painting using water colors. The students learned how to sketch using simple shapes and lines as well as how to  mix and blend watercolors.
